A friend of ours works as a Director of Business Development at a dynamic technology company that has been around for over 15 years and offers high-quality software solutions for various industries. The position provides the opportunity to work with exciting national and international clients and to find a real professional home with long-term perspectives.

Your tasks

  • You develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the market and conduct lead generation and sales activities.
  • You build close relationships within the DACH region.
  • You generate sales by researching and identifying new contacts and leads, developing business development plans and market offers, networking, using social media (e.g., LinkedIn), and participating in virtual and physical events for lead and opportunity generation.
  • You create compelling proposals and close deals.
  • You plan, prepare, and deliver presentations and capability demonstrations.
  • You develop a geographical strategy to increase the business pipeline.

You will enjoy this job if

  • You have several years of experience in Business Development/Sales of customized services and solutions.
  • You have knowledge and experience in the railway market, which is desirable, but not a must.
  • You have an understanding or interest in systems and software development.
  • You have experience in strategic account management, with an understanding of the financial perspective.
  • You have skills in contract management and negotiations.
  • You have a consultative style, are comfortable networking, and can help your colleagues at the same time.
  • You have very good German and English language skills.
